Degraded mode
A deliberately limited product behavior used when an AI dependency or model output cannot meet the normal service condition.
Why it matters
A safe fallback can preserve essential work without silently accepting a low-quality or unavailable AI result.
Measure it with
- Fallback activation
- Tasks preserved
- User-visible failures
- Recovery time
Do not assume
Retries alone are a reliable fallback or that every AI task should continue during failure.
